Dealing with the new norm

To say that we are living in unprecedented times doesn't seem to do the current environment justice.

I want to ask for your help on two things.

While it has only been a couple of weeks, Covid-19 is now impacting every walk of life from consumers to governments, banks, lenders and of course many FinTech's. Unfortunately, I think we are going to be in for the long haul as the global pandemic will take many months to get on top of. We have to come together now more than ever and do what we can to adjust to a life where remote working, video calls and virtual services are not the exception but the norm.

The drive for businesses to digitise has never been greater. In the world of financial services, we alongside many other FinTech's have been frustrated by the slow adoption of different thinking and innovating differently.

It's no longer sustainable for businesses to do what we have always done, just because that's the way they have done it.

I wanted to send a note and ask for your support for two reasons.

Firstly as a call for action.

All of the organisations, governments and businesses that are stuck in the 'old' world look to the FinTech community for support. Startups are incredibly good at identifying operational pains and solving it much more efficiently and effectively than those burdened with risk aversion, processes and policies that just hinder progress. I'm not saying to throw caution to the wind, but in times like these, we have to start adopting change.

Over the last 10 years I've seen this time and time again. We want to help make the world a better place - to solve the credit risk, identity and personal data challenges that are out there. We want to do our part on the back of a proven track record of doing what we do better, more effectively and with less risk.

Secondly we want to offer our support and help.

One of the simplest challenges is simply removing the physical need for a bank statement. From consumer and business lending to tenancy, pre-employment screening, to wealth management - many businesses still ask for bank statements each and every day.

If this is you, or you know someone who does, please get in touch. We want to support businesses who are able to continue operating as well as individuals getting access to the services they need. To that end we will be happy to give you access to DirectID so you can, with zero integration, start to accept digital bank statements immediately. For the next 6 months, this will be at a heavy discount so we can do what we can to help get the world working again.

We can have you up and running in just a few days. Please take a minute to consider this, either for yourselves or someone you know.

You can, of course, find all you need to know on Open Banking and bank data on our website, where we have a plethora of blogseBookswebinars, product sheets and a podcast ready for consumption.

Thanks for your time and as everyone seems to be saying these days quite appropriately - stay safe!
