miiCard becomes The ID Co.

It's been almost five years since we started our miiCard journey to create trust online. I wanted to quickly touch base and let you know about an important brand change we have just launched.

At that time we launched our consumer offering miiCard. First as an MVP and then over the coming years we developed it as a full Identity as a Service platform, enabling businesses to integrate miiCard single sign on and verification into their sites. Today the miiCard Digital Passport is part of a pilot with the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace and the State of North Carolina, and has recently featured in a collaboration with TDL and Microsoft that allows miiCard members to log into any Azure Active Directory B2C enabled service. By the end of the year we will have some exciting updates to this platform that continue to focus on putting us as consumers in control of our online identities and our personal data.

Then early last year, due to demand and a strong pull from the market, we launched our business service DirectID. We essentially pulled that strong identity verification service that focused on levering the trust we already have with our bank, Bank Verified Identities, into a service that could be embedded within the customer onboarding journey.

DirectID is now our business service, focussing on one time verifications with a frictionless user experience that can be embedded directly into your business process. The platform combines bank verified identities, live financial data, bureau and document authentication and is being used by global and local banks, wealth management platforms and leading online lenders.

We are now bringing these two products together as we continue our mission to create trust online. The ID Co. is now who we are, it's what we are all about and it reflects our five year mission to help solve one of the greatest challenges of our time. We have started with a new corporate site which you can see at www.theidco.com

This is a bold step for us and I would love your feedback. The lack of trust online is a pain we all feel and only by working together can we solve this for the world – so let's work together.
