Tech Nation Fintech growth programme launches!
As the founder of my own Fintech (The ID Co.) I have built up a passion for Fintech especially from a Scottish perspective and have been involved with the Fintech Delivery Panel (FDP) for a while now. For those that don’t know this panel, a key component of Tech City UK’s Fintech programme plays a key and active role in helping to scale up our Fintech companies and in becoming global leaders in their field. FDP is all about maintaining the UK’s leading position at the forefront of financial services. This is as much about Open Banking as the rest of the Fintech, Insurtech and Regtech spaces.

The work we have been doing on many vital areas is now starting to produce some existing streams of activities. In addition to sharing insights and knowledge in what is at the end of the day, a unique industry has been fantastic. It has also provided the opportunity to try and build a stronger community not just in London but regionally as well. This was covered in a recent 11FS podcast.
Launched last week is our new growth programme for Finech’s. Tech Nation Fintech is our first sector-specific programme and we’re looking for applications from startups right across the UK. The programme kicks off in September and will include a 24-hour induction, Insight sessions lead by finTech experts, five networking events and a three-day international showcase trip January 2019.
It’s an excellent opportunity for regions, like Scotland!, to get involved. I have the pleasure of being one of the great judges involved and excited to see what we can take from Scotland to the program.
